In this workshop, participants will identify ways to manage cultural prejudices/biases utilizing the videos, “Managing Your Prejudices, and Flash Judgements”, discuss the Cultural Competency Continuum, and examine their own biases in a safe environment.
This workshop will look in depth at the definitions of Risk Factors, Protective Factors and Resiliency, and how these approaches play out in the work we do with the populations we serve.
In this workshop participants will learn what strong families need, and what protective factors, family assets, and approaches make up strong families as seen in a variety of research studies.
This workshop will review the state-of-the-art knowledge from prevention science, and practice and help to dispel myths about what does and doesn’t work.
